Error 609 - The device type does not exist
  1. Go into My computer > dial up networking > properties of connection.
  2. In the general properties page make sure the modem is the correct one you are using. If not click on the drop down list and pick correct modem.
  3. Click on OK
  4. Try connecting.
  5. If that fails go into control panel > modems > check if correct modem drivers are installed.
  6. If not then remove incorrect modem > restart computer > re-install modem.
  7. If that fails remove dialer and create a new one.
